FAQ's

Do you take commissions?

I do not take commissions at the present time.

How did you become an artist?

I am a self-taught artist who began painting over 20 years ago as a way of dealing with a series of challenging life events. Because i had no formal art education, it was difficult to find opportunities so i began making my own opportunities and built an art studio in a former cotton Mill in my home town Mossley. I was lucky to have my work spotted by a researcher which led to my paintings being featured on the BBC One Show, ITV Northwest Tonight, and more recently Sky Arts.

What prices are your original paintings?

My original paintings start from around £1000, for a smaller to medium piece up to 12,000 + for a large canvas.

Do you ship original art outside the UK?

Yes, my original works are shipped unframed worldwide using DPD fully tracked service. Click for shipping info

Do you sell prints?

I sell a range of Limited Edition Signed Prints online and have recently launched a new range of affordable open-edition gicleé prints. Sign up to my subscribers group for all the latest news on new limited edition print releases.

Which art mediums do you use?

I prefer to use highly pigmented traditional oils . Over the years i have learned it is better to spend a bit more of good quality paints, as the vibrancy and tonal ranges are so much better. I use Pebeó primer paste as a texture base on my canvas, before applying a quick drying acrylic as the base colour. Then for the final detail it is Michael Harding or Old Holland oils.

Do you visit schools?
