About Chris

Chris Cyprus is a contemporary artist from Gorton, Manchester with a dedicated worldwide following of collectors who resonate deeply with his unique, evocative paintings.

Moving to the rolling hills of Lancashire with his family in the mid 1970's sparked a life-long passion for countryside exploration. Chris immersed himself in the green open spaces near his home on the edge of the Pennines, which became his biggest influence at the beginning of his art journey.

As life intervened, a work related back injury and two diagnoses of cancer at a young age forced Chris to re-evaluate the important things in life, and set him on the path least travelled towards a lifelong career as an independent artist.

Over the course of his career, Chris has masterfully captured landscapes of the Pennines, evocative night scenes of Greater Manchester, and the dynamic skylines of the city seen from the edge of the hills. His art boldly and uniquely explores the post industrial landscape, showcasing his ambition and innovative spirit.

Chris influence extends beyond his own creations; he inspires generations of young artists who are keen to follow a similar path. His journey reflects a bold and brave approach to his art, pushing the boundaries and evolving as a pivotal figure in the art world.
